The Four Suits

description

A collection of experimental poetry by four artists: Alison Knowles, Tomas Schmit, Benjamin Patterson, and Philip Corner. Each artist is designated to one of the four suits, clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades, respectively. Knowles' section plays with the letter 'T' using both words and images, while Patterson's presents a very realized theory of "Perceptual Education Tools," and Schmit's suggests a list of possible things to do in place of reading the book. In the final section, Corner presents the reader with both text and drawings exploring the emotions and understanding behind musical performance. Includes numerous black-and-white illustrations, and a publisher's foreward by Dick Higgins.
