Assembling : A Collection of Otherwise Unpublishable Manuscript

description

The first of the multi-part series of Assembling publications featuring unedited compilations of works by Vito Acconci, Tom Ahern, Arakawa, Madeline Gins, Dan Graham, Robert Lax, Edward Ruscha, Alan Sondheim, Hannah Weiner and a host of other artists. Includes "'Ecological' Rock" by Dan Graham and Ruscha's "Chocolate," a two-page piece consisting of a cover page followed by a unique smear of chocolate - consistent with his Stains portfolio and 1970 installation "Chocolate Room," in the United States Pavilion at the 35th Biennale Esposizione Internazionale dArte Venezia. [See No. M17 in Siri Engberg and Clive Phillpot, "Edward Ruscha : Edition 1959-1999, Catalogue Raisonné," Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN, and Distributed Art Publishers, New York, NY, 1999, pp. 129.]
