Saynetes Comiques

Christian Boltanski

Saynetes Comiques

description

Artists' book published on the occasion of the exhibition "12 x 1, Une certaine actualite de l'art contemporain en France," held at Europalia 75, France, October - November 1975. Includes 22 b/w portraits of a man: "The technique differs from the earlier comic sketches. Each scene now takes place in front of a painted backdrop which reinforces the theatrical effect. Christian Boltanski transforms himself by adopting various summary disguises and takes on all the roles in the dramatic sequence." -- from Catalogue: Books, Printed Matter, Ephemera 1966-1991. Text in French and Dutch.
