Alice Hutchins : Improvisation, Magnetic Sculpture

description

Exhibition catalogue published in conjunction with show held March 18 - April 20, 1988. Alice Hutchins' sculptures are constructed from a myriad of magnets and magnetizable steel, including bearings, washers, springs, rods and bushings, and they insist upon the physical involvement of the viewer. The catalogue is comprised of black-and-white photographs of both children and adults interacting with the exhibition. Includes a foreword by Rob Wilson, Art Curator of the Redding Museum and Art Center, and an introduction by the artist.
