Artist's Reserved Rights Sale Agreement [aka : The Artist's Reserved Rights Transfer and Sale Agreement]

description

Early draft of Seth Siegelaub and Robert [Bob] Projansky's "The Artist's Reserved Rights Transfer and Sale Agreement." This draft dated January 30, 1971 and titled "Artist's Reserved Rights Sale Agreement," title would later change to "The Artist's Reserved Rights Transfer and Sale Agreement." First sheet of document outlines Siegelaub's intent in crafting the agreement: "This Agreement has been designed to remedy some generally acknowledged inequities in the the art world, particularly artists' lack of control over the use of their work and participation in its economics after they no longer own it. We feel that this Agreement form will, in a few months, be the standard instrument for the transfer of all contemporary art. We would like to make it as simple, fair and useful as possible. To do so, we would like your comments and opinions..."
