Reconstitution de Gestes Effectu‚s par Christian Boltanski entre 1948 et 1954

description

Artists' book which contains photographs taken in November 8th, 1970 by Sarkis. "The idea of recreating events is taken from the branch of police investigation which involves the analysis of crimes and the reconstruction of accidents... It almost seems that the artist had set out to prove, on the contrary, the impossibility of recreating the past and [reinacting] one's life. This results in the exaggeratedly exact, overly emphatic gestures of these commonplace childhood moments in which everyone can [recognise] themselves... The setting is Christian Boltanki's family home." -- from Catalogue: Books, Printed Matter, Ephemera 1966-1991. Text in French.
