Press release dated on June 12, 1972 in which Presidential candidate George McGovern calls for a new national medical care system that would "end forever the shameful conditions prevailing in the nation's central cities." McGovern states that "it is time we broke down the barrier between decent medical care and a person's income or color. It is time instead to recognize that every American has the right to decent health care."
